Ms. Wolters' class

Happy New Year and welcome back to school!!! I hope everyone had a great holiday season and is rested and ready to get back in the swing. Thank you so much for coming to our singing performance!!! I was so proud of all the kids; they did excellent!!! Thanks so much for all the gifts, cards and well wishes and for helping at the party. I think it was all a huge success.

I hope you will like our new homework calendar. You will not have to turn it in for two weeks. I think you will enjoy it since it is less paper and pencil work and more interacting with your child. We are continuing to blend sounds and a lot of the kids are reading. Please check your child's backpack for their little reader and if you haven't received one yet, I will be getting those out shortly. I am really in need of some help in the classroom. With all the budget cuts our prep time is very limited and when a specialist is sick we are not getting any subs. Because of this I could really use help making journals, stapling books and especially just poppping in to read a story or sit at the table and read the little books with the kids. The kids are always so anxious to read them to me but there is only one of me. If there is a time you would like to come in, I would love to write it on the board and have you show up each week at the same time. I also have a lot of fun games for the kids to play but some of them need a little help from an adult. Thank you so much in advance!!!

Tomorrow is our assembly and we have 6 students who will be honored at the assembly for student of the month. If your child is one of them I sent you an email today. Report cards will also go home tomorrow so please make sure to check their backpacks.

I am excited for another great semester!!

Thank you,
Ms. Wolters
